Elpida Equestrian Partners with Fratelli Fabbri

Wellington, FL (August 25, 2022) - Hope is a pair of new, fully custom Fabbri riding boots! Elpida Equestrian, which is named after the greek word for 'hope,' recently partnered with Fratelli Fabbri, makers of handcrafted Italian riding boots. Founded by coming 16-year-old show jumper Athena Lekkas, Elpida Equestrian's colors and branding were accented in the her pair of custom Fabbris, a brand that is known for its unique combination of performance, style, and elegance. The riding boot of choice for riders including Ben Maher, Peder Fredericson, Lillie Keenan, Brian Moggre, and Adrienne Sternlicht, Fratelli Fabbri has been on the cutting edge of riding boot design and innovation for the past few decades.

Lekkas and her mount Karthago regularly compete at the 1.15M - 1.20M level, and were looking for a new riding boot with increased performance and a superior fit. Every Fabbri boot is crafted in Italy through a traditional, handworked system, and Fabbri’s principal technical characteristic is adaptability. Fabbri's line of boots include fully custom designs, the 100% animal product free Fabbri VEG, and the off-the-rack Fabbri PRO boot. Each sole is cut either to custom specifications or, for their ready-to-wear Fabbri PROs, with the intent of molding to the rider’s foot. Supple, full grain Italian leather and an Eco-Elastic Gusset System ensures that each boot settles perfectly and immediately to the shape and movement of the leg, heel, and foot of the rider with minimal break-in time.

Lekkas' new pair of riding kicks include all of Fabbri's handcrafted detailing and innovation in addition to her own custom creations: subtle silver accents along the top to catch the light, sapphire blue crystals in the Fabbri logo, and royal blue interior leather to align with her brand.

"I was really impressed with how the boots felt from day one, and from my first time riding in them," said Lekkas. "There was almost zero break-in, my first ride we jumped 1.20M or higher! They're gorgeous and I can't wait to show in them this weekend and at WEF 2023!"

About Elpida Equestrian

As a sophomore at The Benjamin School, Lekkas is a determined rider whose goal is to ride at the Grand Prix level. Her main competition mount, Karthago Di Cabra, is a 17.3h Belgian Warmblood gelding. A stunning golden chestnut, Karthago’s scope and presence have helped Athena move closer to her goal and the pair are currently jumping through the 1.25M division under the tutelage of Ashley Glica of ATG Equestrian. In 2022 they were invited to compete at the prestigious 2022 Markel/USHJA Zone Jumper Team Championships in Tryon, North Carolina. Inspired by her own Greek and Puerto Rican heritage, as well as her passion for show jumping, Lekkas competes under her brand, Elpida Equestrian.

Elpida comes from the ancient Greek word ἐλπίς (elpis) – the personification and spirit of hope in Greek mythology
